In 2004, Kate began her journey in Brazilian jiu-jitsu training, and in 2016 she became the first female student to receive a black belt directly from the legendary Royce Gracie.
Today, Kate currently holds the rank of Black Belt Professor under Royce Gracie.
Royce Gracie became famous by winning the first UFC and showcasing the effectiveness of the family martial art his father founded. Gracie Jiu-Jitsu is a self defense system that emphasizes the use of leverage and technique over size and strength.
"I am honored to have Kate as a blackbelt. I have known Kate in the martial arts community for over 20 years and she has always been a professional teacher and a hard working person." - Royce Gracie
